CE Playlist Help

Song List Tab

This view shows all the data about each song that has been copied to it from either the Playlist or Song Library views. Playlists can also be opened and saved in this view, and new playlists can be created using some or all of the songs in the list. Some or all of the songs can also be played directly by Windows Media Player, PocketMVP, withMP3, or other PocketPC player. A song is selected by clicking on the checkbox next to its name. The Song List contains columns for Song Title, Album, Artist, Genre, Track, Size, Type, Sort, and Path. Highlighted songs can be moved up or down in the list by clicking on the Up or Down menu icons. Clicking on the header for a column will sort the list by that column. Columns can be rearranged by clicking and dragging the header for the column to be moved. All entries in the Sort column are set to 1 when a playlist is loaded or songs are copied from either the Song Library or Playlist views. This can be changed to a number between 1-999 by clicking on the number which brings up a Sort Order dialog. To sort the list by the entries in the Sort Column, just click on the Sort header.

Repeat and Shuffle flags can be set for a playlist file by using the Tools menu.

This submenu allows the format of the playlist files to be selected. The setting also determines which player will be started when Play Selection is clicked.

Windows Media (asx) - Selecting this option causes all playlists to be created using Windows Media format and with an extension of .asx. When Play Selection is clicked, CEPlaylist will cause Windows Media Player to play the selected files if it is associated with .asx files.

withMP3 (plt) - Selecting this option causes all playlists to be created using withMP3's format and with an extension of .plt. When Play Selection is clicked, CEPlaylist will cause withMP3 to play the selected files.

M3U Format (m3u) - Selecting this option causes all playlists to be created and saved using a standard M3U format and with an extension of .m3u. When Play Selection is clicked, CEPlaylist will cause any player that is associated with .m3u files to play the selected files, if the player supports file association starts.
